ViewPoint 55, 2023 Calendar
Online submission: Closes Friday, July 14, 2023.
Mail-in entries must be mailed & postmarked by Saturday, July 8, 2023 to ensure meeting the CaFE online submission closing date.
Selection Results: emailed by Saturday, August 5th, 2023.
Invited work will be listed on the Cincinnati Art Club Website by Tuesday, August 8th, 2023. (cincinnatiartclub.org)
Shipped Works shall be delivered to Eisele Gallery by Thursday August 31st , 2023. (Shipping instructions will be sent to invited artists.)

Eligibility and Rules
Participants: Open to all artists 18 years of age and older. A top award winner from 2021 or 2022 (First, Second and Third Place) may enter but is ineligible to win one of these awards in 2023.
Entrants are eligible for one award only.
Note: Only totally original work, conceived and executed by the entrant after January 1, 2021 will be accepted. All artwork must be original and for sale.
Excluded media: photography, video, crafts, fiber, computer generated art, painting on photos, and jewelry. Paintings created in a workshop or classes are not acceptable. All work must be original in concept and execution.
Framed Dimensions are crucial and shall not exceed a size of 48” wide (frame included.) Each piece must be suitably framed and ready for hanging, using strong D ring or mirror hangers and wire. Gallery wrapped canvas finished and/or painted on all sides is acceptable.
Free standing sculpture must not exceed 36” x 36”x 60” and must be stable or attached to a stable base.
Wall sculpture must adhere to the same dimensions and framing as paintings and is limited to a depth of 15”.
Presentation of artwork: We recommend that artwork requiring glazing should use Plexiglas or other plastic glazing. Shipped artwork using standard glass poses the risk of damaged artwork and is not advisable. Glass is acceptable for hand-delivered work, however, plastic glazing is preferred on all artwork.
Liability and insurance: reasonable precautions will be taken to safeguard all entries. However, the Cincinnati Art Club will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to CD’s, and/or any artwork submitted. Artists are strongly encouraged to insure artwork in transit and during the exhibition.
The signature of the artist constitutes acceptance of all conditions and terms stated in this prospectus. Failure to comply with terms and conditions will result in disqualification of entry.
Entries submitted digitally
Any digital manipulation must be limited to making the digital file look more like the original art, otherwise risk disqualification.
Sculpture, 3D art…
If you need to show multiple views, combine views in one image for online submission or clearly mark images on CD for mail in application.
Sales and Commissions
All artwork must be for sale – When pricing your art, remember a 50% commission will be deducted from each sale. Price on Request is not acceptable.
Shipping
Detailed shipping instructions will be mailed to all artists whose work is selected for ViewPoint 55. Shipped work will be returned following the show closing.
Entries and Awards
The works selected for the show will be determined on the basis of submitted digital images. Awards will be based on actual artwork.

Exhibition Judge
Deborah Joyce Dawson, AIS is a widely published, internationally recognized artist who has been painting in oils, watercolors, and/or acrylics for 58 years! She is a lifelong learner having studied at Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland, Capital University and the Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus and Denison University in Granville, OH. Debra continues her education in art by studying with renowned national and international artists in the fields of oil painting, drawing and printmaking. She is a founder and past President of Ohio Plein Air Society, a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, a recipient of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society “Best Technique and Application Award” from master artist Dan Gerhartz, and a Silver Award winner at the Art in the Open Plein Air Competition in Wexford, Ireland. She has served as Artist-in-Residence at Hiawatha National Forest, MI; Arc of Appalachia, Bainbridge, OH; and La Grande Vigne, Dinan, Brittany, France. A widely published artist, her work is included in the permanent collections of the Columbus Museum of Art, OH; the Richmond Art Museum, IN, and the Ohio Supreme Court Contemporary Collection, among others. Her work is included in private collections around the world, including former Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger.
