The Cincinnati Art Club Cultivates Creativity
We are Greater Cincinnati’s largest group of women and men who promote the love of visual arts through education and community outreach. Our history dates back to the foundations of American art as a creative force on the world stage. Our members have been leaders in their professions, forces in the community and warm in their welcome for those who share their passion.
We cultivate creativity with educational programs, exhibition opportunities and fellowship for all those who seek artistic growth, whether professionally or just for their own enjoyment. Membership is open to anyone who appreciates the visual arts.
We bring nationally acclaimed artists to our city to teach workshops and present demonstrations of their work and techniques. We attract entrants from across the country to compete for honors in our annual ViewPoint juried exhibition. You can see nationally recognized art and artists up close, with personal interaction.
We provide sketch groups for drawing or painting from life, art critiques, expert-led demonstrations and monthly gatherings where we encourage each other toward understanding and improvement. CAC is a facility where you can develop your skills among supportive peers or expanded knowledge from practicing artists.
We provide scholarships to area college students pursuing advanced art education and an annual high school plein air competition with mentorship to encourage students to pursue their artistic skills after graduation and to develop an appreciation of art that is carried into adulthood.
We coordinate with other civic groups to support cultural and economic activities that help make this a thriving, vibrant and inclusive region. Visual art is an important part of this region’s creative economy, having a ripple effect across the region and generating over $6 billion annually. We are working to help spread recognition of Cincinnati as a leading national center for visual art.
