Meetings | Programs

For Members and their invited guests–

Dinner or Brunch Programs are held on the third Wednesday evening (Dinner) or Saturday morning (Brunch) of the month during the Club’s regular season (September – May). Check the Club Calendar for that month’s scheduled Program. The May meeting is open to Members only, it is our Annual Business Meeting.

Reservations are mandatory and the Reservation Deadline is 4:00 PM on the Friday prior to the meeting. If you make a Reservation and cannot attend, please cancel, you will be charged for the meal if you do not. Price of meals are payable by check only at the door.

The Catering Chairperson maintains a Permanent List for Reservations, email dinner@cincinnatiartclub.com to put your name on the list and have a Reservation for the entire Season. You must renew annually. Those who have made reservations, but do not attend, are still expected to pay for their meals.

Presentations following the meal are approximately 1 hour long, depending on the content. We feature local and national artists, art historians, authors and other topics which might be of interest to our visual art community.

Ken Buck– Pastel Demonstration

Ken Buck is one of Cincinnati’s most renown artists and teachers. He creates dynamic figurative works of art and is best known for his striking large-scale scenes of swimmers interacting with light and water. This will be a stunning occasion to see our  Pastel Exhibition, ‘The Velvet Touch,’ with so many variations in pastel, and to also observe Ken’s demonstration following the member meeting dinner.

Kevin Necessary–

This video is the Cincinnati Art Club Program from March 19, 2021 which was recorded from Zoom. Kevin is a freelance cartoonist, comics journalist, and illustrator. He currently provides a weekly editorial cartoon for The Cincinnati Enquirer and the USA Today network. In addition to his editorial cartoons, Kevin is a freelance illustrator and storyboard artist.

David Smith– A Look Inside the Art Gallery Business

David Smith will join us as we return to our Wednesday evening schedule for the Cincinnati Art Club’s March Member Meeting. He will share his insights on how artists can have success working with galleries to represent their art. David balances many competing forces and has made Mariemont into a center that competes well with bigger LA and Manhattan galleries. He weaves the thread from contemporary to traditional artwork without getting stuck in either genre. His understanding of the pride Cincinnatians takes in their city and exhibits the work of many local artists because he has built clientele who treasure showing area artists in their homes and businesses. He frequents estate and art fairs, he is a member of the Cincinnati Art Club, and he will be staging ViewPoint for the third straight year this Fall.

Rebekah Beaulieu– Taft Museum of Art

A year ago, the Taft announced Becky as the new president and CEO of the Taft Museum of Art, following a nationwide search. Come hear her presentation on the state of the Museum after it’s multi-million dollar exterior restoration and her plans for the future.
