Portrait with Nature, Emma Day, Ursuline

The Cincinnati Art Club (CAC) and Greenacres Foundation are excited to announce the winners of the fourth annual Greater Cincinnati High School Art Students Plein Air Art Competition.

The four student artist Award Winners’ work will start their display to the public in the Cincinnati Art Museum’s (CAM) Rosenthal Education Center. After approximately 6 months on display at CAM, they will travel to additional display locations within the Greater Cincinnati area.

We hope everyone who participated enjoyed the HSPA this year. Please tell your fellow students and teachers so they can plan on participating next year!

Winners of the Fourth Annual Greater Cincinnati High School Plein Air Competition

First Place: Portrait with Nature

1st Place- Emma Day, Ursuline Academy, for her Graphite Pencil piece “Portrait with Nature,” $350 cash award, plus display of the artwork for 1 year at public locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Second Place: Teahouse Turret

2nd Place – Landen Hill, Northwest High School, for his piece “Teahouse Turret”, Mixed Media, $100 cash award, a $50 Plaza Gift Card, plus display of the artwork for 1 year at public locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Third Place: Corner of the Garden

 3rd Place – Sofie Bill, Seton High School for her piece “Corner of the Garden”, Color Marker, $50 cash award, a $50 Plaza Gift Card, plus display of the artwork for 1 year at public locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

CAC Artists' Choice: Snake in the Garden

CAC Artists’ Choice- Caitlyn Hyland, St. Ursula Academy, for her piece “Snake in the Garden”, Color Marker, a $50 Plaza Gift Card, a one year Student Membership in the Cincinnati Art Club, plus display of the artwork for 1 year at public locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Through a special gift of a high-quality painting easel by a Greenacres employee, a drawing was held and one of the students, Izzy Wetherall, Sycamore High School, will be able to use it as the centerpiece of her own studio.
