A Path to Excellence in ART for Kids
Coming this summer, the Cincinnati Art Club offers an art experience unlike any other in Cincinnati. ART for Kids is a 4-week art school for up to 80 kids who attend Cincinnati Public Schools, grades 3 to 6. We teach the Elements and Principles of art and adhere to Ohio Curriculum Standards so that our classes align with lessons taught by CPS teachers.
Dr. Isidore Rudnick, CPS Fine Arts Curriculum Manager, said: “No other organization in Cincinnati has ever offered our kids this kind of program to continue building their skills over the summer break than the ART for Kids program from the Cincinnati Art Club.”
The women and men in the Cincinnati Art Club are committed to spreading the love and knowledge of visual art to adult and young artists. We designed ART for Kids specifically for kids who love art the way we do. The students attending this program will propel their creative thinking and artistic abilities. The teaching staff of ART for Kids includes practicing artists from our Club membership – what better way to learn art than from some of the best artists in Cincinnati.

About CAC ART for Kids
The 4-week program is broken into two sessions. Parents can choose whether to send their kids the JUNE Session, JULY Session, both Sessions or individual weeks.
EXCLUSIVITY: ART for Kids is open only to art students in CPS schools, grades 3 to 6. ART for Kids is partnered with and partly funded by Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS).
TEACHER RECOMMENDATION: Art teachers can recommend up to two advanced art students. We anticipate receiving more applications than our limit of 20 students per class. Selection will be made on first-come basis so we urge teachers to make recommendations as soon as possible.

FREE classes in June
The JUNE Session of ART for Kids is held June 4-6 and the following week June 11-13. It is totally FREE to attend, including the art supplies.
The tuition has been paid for through the generosity and dedication of by Cincinnati Public Schools, the National Endowment for the Arts (an independent agency of the federal government), and ArtsWave which is the largest contributor to local arts, as well as contributions by the Cincinnati Art Club.
The JULY Session classes have been CANCELED due to unsecured funding.
The July 16-17 ART for Kids AND the July 23-25 class will cost $75 per week.
The July classes are taught by two of the most outstanding professional artists in Cincinnati: Cedric Cox and Brandon Hawkings. Similar summer art programs cost $200 a week, but the Cincinnati Art Club offers just $75 a week ($150 for both classes). This small fee helps us defray some of our expenses but as a nonprofit club, we do need to breakeven.
